Brings an Extensive Record of Ocean Carrier Sales and Port Experience
NORFOLK, VA – Tony Salino is The Port of Virginia’s® new director of ocean carrier sales bringing to the position extensive experience in transportation industry, having worked for multiple ocean carriers and most recently, one of Virginia’s U.S. East Coast peer ports.
Salino’s last position was director of refrigerated business development for the North Carolina State Ports Authority. His work experience also includes time spent with ocean carriers Zim, CMA-CGM, NYK and Evergreen. He received a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.
“Tony has a strong reputation within ocean carrier and shipper community and brings some specialized knowledge and experience in the refrigerated cargo segment, which is an area where we are investing in order to increase our capabilities and volumes,” Capozzi said. “He knows many of the ocean carrier executives and understands the important issues. His knowledge of the industry will allow him to be an immediate contributor.
