United Cargo Management has announced changes among its senior management.
Following a number of months of planning, Thomas Lee, President and founder of the company, has been named Chairman of the Board. At the same time, Carlton W. “Tres” Blair, III, Managing Partner/Chief Commercial Officer, has assumed the role of CEO as his primary role.
Carlton W. “Tres” Blair, III’s more than 30 years of experience in the shipping and logistics world include his time as a vessel boarding agent, Regional Manager of equipment control for the Southeast at Lykes Bros. Steamship Company, and then Regional Sales Manager of seven states for CP Ships. Blair then became Managing Partner/CCO at UCM where he initiated operations in the Southeast US and the US Gulf. He partnered with Mr. Lee and opened UCM’s office in Charleston in 2003, where his current staff of 20 specializes in providing unique, creative, customized Global logistics solutions.
“Building our company has been my primary goal since I joined UCM in 2003,” said Blair. “We provide levels of global capability, institutional knowledge and creativity unmatched within the marketplace we serve. As CEO, I look forward to guiding UCM as we explore new opportunities, expand our footprint and reach ever-increasing levels of success.”
United Cargo Management does not expect to install replacements to the positions being vacated as the result of these organizational shifts.
