Port of Vancouver, USA welcomed the M/V Saga Adventure, captained by Boben Kocherry from India, on her maiden voyage to Vancouver, Washington. The M/V Saga Adventure is owned and operated by Saga Forest Carriers of Tonsberg, Norway, and represented locally by Merit Steamship Agency, Inc. of Portland, Oregon. Mr. Lance Thain is Marine Manager for Merit Steamship.

The M/V Saga Adventure, launched in November 2005, is the first vessel in a new 'Adventure Class' which will consist of nine newbuildings to be delivered from Oshima, Japan, in the period up to 2008.

A general cargo vessel, the M/V Saga Adventure is 199.2 meters in length and has a total 46,627 deadweight tons, with 10 holds/hatches and two traveling 42 long ton gantry cranes. The vessel's bow thruster is redesigned, and the vessel is compliant with environmental IMO Requirements meeting low emissions engine compliance.

In Vancouver, the M/V Saga Adventure discharged cargo from Brazil at Port of Vancouver's Terminal 3, stevedored by Marine Terminals Corporation. After leaving the Port of Vancouver, the vessel will sail to New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, before proceeding on to Asia.
