Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Vehicle Services Canada (VSC) has announced the signing of a three-year contract with Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada to handle all of the car-maker's imported vehicles from Japan, plus a smaller volume of US-built Mitsubishi automobiles. The new business involves a broad range of vehicle processing services, including terminal receiving, accessorizing, repairs, fueling, and washing ' plus coordination of vehicle shipments within Canada via rail and truck.

All of the vehicle processing services will be performed at the VSC facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Commenting on the acquisition of the Mitsubishi business, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics' Senior Vice President, Gary Long, said, 'The excellent coordination between our offices in Vancouver, Woodcliff Lake (the regional headquarters), Port Hueneme and Tokyo were critical to our success.' Long also noted that Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has had a strong, ongoing relationship with Mitsubishi that includes ocean transportation from Asia to Europe, as well as terminal and technical services in Port Hueneme.
