World Distribution Services (WDS) has announced the slated opening of its brand-new distribution facility, the second building opening for the company in the last eight months. Located just south of the Port of New York/New Jersey in Linden, New Jersey, and boasting over 480,000 sq. ft., the building will open in July 2021.

“WDS experienced considerable growth in 2020, despite the logistics and supply chain challenges the global pandemic created,” says Dale Young, WDS Vice President of Warehousing and Distribution. "Customer requests to handle more volume, along with the recent import boom, prompted us to accelerate our expansion plans into Newark. We are looking forward to the additional capacity and the partnership opportunities that this space will provide.”

WDS President Duncan Wright provided additional insight, saying “We firmly believe in the future of warehousing and distribution at major port hubs across the U.S. Recent world events and constant volatility within the container supply chain have highlighted the importance of having partners in port markets. WDS can absolutely provide the right level of service, expertise, and support as customers look for e-commerce, transload, or distribution solutions. This expansion in the northeast is just part of our strategy to position significant warehouse capacity close to the largest populations and ports”.

Featuring a 40’ clear height, 90 dock doors, and ample parking for trailers, WDS is equipped to partner with customers on a wide variety of logistics and e-commerce needs. Our full-time, dedicated staff can provide custom solutions for transloading, e-commerce, pick & pack, and more. With a flexible warehouse management system (WMS) and state-of-the-art technology solutions, WDS can help make operations more efficient and provide insight and visibility into logistics activities that other organizations may not provide.
